The Noblemen is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization based out of Virginia Beach, Virginia which includes members located throughout the Hampton Roads region. The Noblemen mission is to identify and perform Noble Deeds for great local kids who are in need of help. We hope that you will visit our website often and learn how you can join us as we continue "Helping Kids. And Changing Lives"!

The organization was started by Al Midgett after having experienced enormous medical bills for his sick newborn son. With bills of over a half a million dollars, his friends put together an event to help with debt relief. Feeling gratitude toward the goodwill he received, Al Midgett got those same friends together to form a group for the benefit of those in need. They initially called themselves "The Robin Hoods of Virginia Beach." After ten years, they changed their name to "The Noblemen" and still continue their philanthropic events.

Al was able to bring together professionals from all over Hampton Roads in the interest of benefiting kids and have a great time as well. Everybody wins during Noblemen doing NobleDeeds. It is a fraternal organization run completely by volunteers.

When a Noblemen member hears of someone in need, he lets the group know and it is decided how to help. In one instance, a quadriplegic man had difficulty getting in and out of a shower stall to bathe. It was brought to the attention of the Noblemen, it was decided to help him and within a week, the shower stall had been expanded. The Noblemen drew from its many professionals to get the work done. That is the essence of the group, ACTION! There are no long deliberations.

Bio:

Al Midgett, a lifelong Virginia Beach local, stumbled on his true calling back in 1993 when his life took a scary turn with the birth of his dramatically premature son, Matthew. Al and his wife Marge, awed by the power of community love and support, decided to “give as good as they got,” and ever since Al has made philanthropy a worthwhile pursuit. As the founder of The Noblemen, Al lives on Sherwood Farms in Back Bay with his wife Marge – and countless critters!

After several careers with large corporations and a good healthy stint in real estate, Al resigned from corporate life in 2006 and dedicated his resources to creating a non-profit that would stand the test of time and allow communities both locally and nationally give back.

Days were spent meeting with local community leaders as well as local heroes that are in need of assistance to accomplish noble deeds in their lives or enhance the lives of others.

Inspiring over 300 local members effectively communicating the needs of the community and creating successful events that fund the infrastructure needed to accomplish our mission.
